Okoa Jamii Arts Initiative is a Community-Based Organization, Non-Profit, and Non-Governmental Organization established in August 2022 to assist in spearheading community driven development initiatives and enabling needy community groups to participate in integrated activities (art) to achieve quality livelihood and self-sufficiency. OJAI employs art (acting, dancing, singing, poetry, spoken word, drumming) to foster sustainable communities, intercultural exchange, and thriving slums/estates in our country.

OJAI promotes empowerment and intercultural exchange among Kenyan and international communities (short and long-term volunteering), youth mobility, social inclusion, arts and physical activities, community development, and peace promotion for the sake of unity.
We nurture to empower.
To foster racial and ideological inclusivity in the local community in order to serve as a stronghold for cross-cultural appreciation, artistic empowerment, and arts access.
To encourage and provide opportunities for creativity, performance, and both artistic and intellectual understanding in our community through theatre and performing arts practice within African contemporary and historical cultures.
To assist local youths in gaining knowledge, skills, networks, and motivation in order for them to strive for an improved acceptable living standard and to gain human dignity and self-esteem through art.
